The drive for change. After taking on wine production, Matteo continued to produce the wines his father made with passion and respect, while adding a few innovative ideas to his fathe's traditions.
Realizing that not all customers are predisposed to drink full-bodied and high-level wines such as Merlot produced traditionally, Matteo thought to produce an easier wine for less demanding palates.
He did this through a combination of traditional Merlot grapes and a resistant variety of grapes (VB-91-26-26), which resulted in the production of the Terra viva wine. A wine which Monzeglio says he is very satisfied with, so much so that he sees it as a first attempt which could be followed by others. Especially because the resistant vines would help him reach his goal of keeping phytosanitary products to a minimum.
