In 1998, a vineyard owner in the St-Saphorin area asked the Rogivue brothers to cultivate some plots on which a Pinot gris, an unusual grape variety for the region, was planted.
The brothers started thinking what they could make of those grapes. They already had two still wine specialities in their range, a Gewürztraminer and a Chardonnay, and wanted to create a wine adapted to the festivities to come as New Year's Eve in the year 2000 was fast approaching.
It was then that they decided to create a sparkling wine with traditional methods which they named "Cuvée Rogivue". This sparkling wine is still today one of the estate's greatest achievements.
